During our
childhood, and even later in the course of our lives, in our
professional activity, for example, it is both natural and necessary
that we ask for guidance and help from our parents, brothers and/or
sisters, relatives, teachers, our superiors at work. We are dependent of
help in other respects as well: food, clothing, transportation, housing,
etc. … We need help in basically everything we do. Similarly, we need
the help of a teacher to provide us with knowledge concerning the real
value of human life, the place of man in creation, her wonderful
possibilities, for example to become a true citizen not only in the
physical world, but in all the planes of this creation.
Haven’t we always wanted to have a friend and an advisor who could
enlighten all those areas where our intellect faces unsurmountable
hinders and limitations, an advisor able to answer the question: “What
is the purpose of life?” – and who has access to dimensions (still)
hidden and inaccessible to us.
The competent spiritual teachers, masters who has existed at all
times, were all such guides for humanity, just as for example Sandor A Markus (Marc John) is for the people of today. Sandor A Markus belongs to a tradition of Masters of the highest degree, who
after hard work and initiations through several lifetimes, has completed
his development and attained the realization of God. He serves as a
mediator of the creative Divine Power. If we are placed on the path of
meditation by a genuine master, we have a competent and infallible
guide, who protects us in our exterior life as well as on our journey in
the inner worlds. The inner worlds are of such perplexing size and
variation, that even if we could find our way into them, we would not
manage to get through them.
Who is the Master – the genuine spiritual master or the master of
the sensory regions?
The explanations concerning meditations show that the inner road to
spiritual development is paved with difficulties. That is why the
spiritual writings underline the necessity of true guidance. It is
obvious that only someone who has walked the way himself, who has
surmounted all the difficulties, who has reached the goal can help
others to do the same. The same way as an unexperienced climber needs a
guide in order to climb a high mountain filled with risks, the true
seeker needs a true master on his way to spiritual consciousness. The
earthly master is in fact the true disciple of the Highest Creative
Force, Sat Purush.
Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh philosophy, was asked by one of
his disciples: “Who is your Guru, Master?” He replied: ”The
manifested Divine Power, Shabd is my Guru. My soul is his disciple.”
Even Kabir has said the same thing: ”The Guru is beyond the sensory
world, the manifested universe – if you reach the top of the mountain,
you will find Him.” He called this Power Guru Dev, the radiant form
of the Master.”
God Himself is the true Master. Not the Absolute, Highest Divinity
but the Divine Power that comes to expression through the form, that
sustains and controls the whole Universe and sustains the whole being of
man. We all have a direct and independent contact with Him. He exists
within each and every one of us, latently. The person within whom he
manifests Himself is blessed, enlightened. Such personalities are rare;
Christ was such a person. Even Kabir and Guru Nanak were such persons.
Their, and other Masters’ teachings are recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
The true Master is the ambassador appointed to his duties by the
Highest Creator
The Master is chosen by the Highest Creator, Sat Purush, to carry out
His will on earth. The Master acts in His name and is the mediator of
His Divine Power (Shadb, the Sound). The Master is a conscious
mediator of the Divine Plan. He sees the underlying Divine Power in all
life, in all creation.
People in the world identify themselves with physical, self-appointed
“Masters”. They rely on this type of Masters or teachers blindly and
without judgment.
